Tarnish is a surface-level oxidation process that happens when the metal comes into contact with moisture and skin oils. 

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, prized for its gold-like appearance. Its malleability allows intricate designs, making it a favorite for statement jewelry. However, its copper content influences tarnishing and skin reactions. 

Copper and Brass can develop a patina from oxidization but can be polished indefinitely. 

While some love this aged look, others prefer to maintain its shine. 

Sterling silver contains 92.5% fine silver and 7.5% copper/alloy. Because of the copper content in sterling silver, it can develop a patina from oxidization, but can be polished indefinitely. 

Sterling silver can also be self cleaning. The more you wear it, the shinier it stays. Natural friction from your skin and gentle fibers from clothes buff your piece over time.  

All jewelry pieces will come with a polishing cloth. 

Yes, and no. Careaux does not offer engraving services at this time. However, can offer metal stamping to have customizable words, dates, initials, names or short phrases on custom pieces.
